Invisalign
Why Invisalign Treatment Has Become Popular
Adults and teens suffering from overbites, crossbites, underbites, gapped teeth, or even crowded teeth benefit from Invisalign. The clear aligners also work exceptionally well for adults who wore braces in their younger years but whose teeth have shifted since childhood or adolescence.
Teens often prefer Invisalign to traditional braces because the clear aligners are discreet. Their inconspicuousness means they will not interrupt life. For example, a person who wears Invisalign can eat anything without limiting their diet. Whereas, traditional braces limit foods due to it getting stuck in the braces or potentially damaging the braces. Simply, remove the aligners before eating food and brush your teeth before inserting them. This protects your teeth from bacterial growth and plaque buildup.
How Invisalign Works
After you and your dentist concur on moving forward with Invisalign, the dentist will conduct another exam to identify any issues that may interfere with treatment. If all is good, the dentist makes impressions of your top and bottom teeth.
After receiving your impressions, the Invisalign lab will create your set of aligners. Each set should be worn for at least 23 hours a day and for about 2 weeks before graduating to the next aligner. Treatment can range from 6 to 18 months depending on your unique dental goals.
