Endodontics is the dental specialty that deals with the nerves of the teeth. Root canals are probably the most notorious procedure in dentistry and the most common procedure relating to endodontics. When a tooth becomes infected it is usually related to the nerves in the root of the tooth. The infected nerves need to be removed. If left untreated an infection can turn into an abscess, which is a much more serious problem that includes bone loss in the jaw.
The area around the tooth is numbed with a local anesthetic to start the procedure. The dentist will then drill down into the tooth to create an opening into the canal. They will then be able to remove infected tissue and clean the canal. After the infection has been removed, the space if filled with a sealant called gutta percha. It is highly recommended that a tooth that has undergone a root canal is fitted with a crown. This will improve the appearance of the tooth, and will also make it much more likely that the root canal is successful.
“Root canal” has become a scary term for dental patients to hear, but the benefits of the procedure and advances in dental technology have made it much less “scary”. Local anesthetics and proper pain medication allow the procedure to be performed with little to no pain in most cases. There may be some soreness following the procedure, but that is normal for most dental procedures. Over the counter painkillers are usually enough to relieve any pain afterwards, but your dentist may prescribe medication. The procedure will also relieve you from pain caused by the infection allowing you to enjoy all the foods you love without any pain from heat, cold, or biting too hard.

I’m from Gainesville, and I originally found Liberia Dental Care simply because they had an available appointment when I really needed to be seen—but little did I know I’d meet the most incredible dental hygienist ever: Lynn. I’m 26 and, I’ll admit, still absolutely terrified of the dentist—like, the tools, the sounds, especially the numbing part—it all freaks me out. But Lynn? She was beyond amazing. She’s incredibly gentle, caring, and you can tell she truly loves what she does. She talked me through every step, made sure I felt safe, and believe it or not—I didn’t feel a single ounce of pain. If you have low pain tolerance or just fear the dentist in general, I cannot recommend Lynn enough. I kept needing breaks and probably seemed super high-maintenance, but she never once made me feel bad or rushed. She was endlessly patient, kind, and even took the time afterward to teach me the proper way to floss and prevent tartar buildup. You just don’t find that kind of care often. What’s wild is that she told me to take Advil afterward just in case, but I didn’t need it at all—I wasn’t even sore. That’s how gentle she is. Lynn is the only person I’m letting near my teeth from now on. Hands down the best dental experience I’ve ever had

Beware of This Unethical Billing Practice! I want to warn others about my terrible experience with this dental office. I had an extraction done after confirming with their receptionist, Caroline, that my insurance would cover the cost. I even scheduled an initial visit solely to verify how much my insurance would cover, as I couldn’t afford unexpected charges. After receiving the service and paying what I was told I owed at the time, I thought everything was settled. However, three months later, Caroline called me, claiming I now owed an additional $600 due to their incorrect estimate (Calling it Initial Estimate). This is completely unacceptable! A business should not lure people in with misleading cost estimates, only to demand more money months later. When I pushed back, explaining this was their mistake and not my responsibility, Caroline became rude and aggressive, even threatening legal action. This is pure harassment for money I do not owe. I am more than willing to take this to court because I have full transparency of the details. I urge everyone to be extremely cautious with this company. Their unethical billing practices and harassment tactics are alarming. Do not trust their estimates, and be prepared for unexpected charges months after your procedure.

The Worst Dental Experience Ever – Avoid Liberia Dental Care! This place is a nightmare! The staff are incredibly rude, and the dentists are unbelievably unprofessional. They have absolutely no care or compassion for their patients. I went in for a simple filling and ended up visiting FIVE times with no resolution. After all that, I’m still dealing with sensitivity and pain, only to have the dentist finally tell me they can’t help and I need to go somewhere else. How is this even acceptable? It’s shocking how poorly they treat their patients. If you care about your teeth and want proper treatment, DO NOT come here. This place is a waste of time, money, and energy. Save yourself the regret and find a dental office where they actually know what they’re doing and treat you with care
Dr. Babu is very experienced and professional and did an excellent job with my wife's bottom dentures. Also, her assistant, Zee, is extremely caring and attentive. She really made my wife's experience very satisfying. They also provided two crowns for me and did a fabulous job.

After getting a filling, I’m still in pain, and despite visiting more than five times for the same issue, it seems like they just don’t care about their patients. The customer service was highly unprofessional, and even the dentist herself didn’t seem interested in solving the problem. Every visit felt like they were just brushing me off. I would strongly advise against going here if you value your health and comfort. Find a dentist who actually cares about their patients’ well-being.”

LIBERIA DENTAL CARE IS THE BEST!!!!! Bring all your family here they are seriously great. They care and are non judgmental of any situation you are dealing with, with your oral hygiene and give you a care plan to help. Dr Babu is great she gave me my care plan and my teeth have gotten alot better. Zee and Lin are the sweetest and give great patient care. Both receptionist are so sweet and great especially girly as you can tell she really cares and she is super helpful. Love this dentist office for real.
